“Are you a coach or a consultant?”
It’s a question I hear often, and my answer might surprise you: Yes, both.
The truth is, I don’t just do both, I am both. Whether I’m facilitating a workshop, consulting on DEI initiatives in your organization, or working one-on-one with my coaching clients, I’m always drawing from both my coaching experience and my consulting expertise. These aren’t separate hats I put on depending on the day, they’re integrated parts of who I am professionally.
Why the Integration Matters
At my core, I believe that effective change, whether personal or organizational, requires both the strategic thinking of consulting and the transformational approach of coaching. When we work together, you don’t have to choose between analytical problem-solving and personal growth. You get both, seamlessly woven together.
I can’t separate these two sides of myself, and honestly, why would I want to? The combination creates something more powerful than either approach alone. My consulting background brings structure, strategy, and systems thinking to every coaching conversation. My coaching skills bring empathy, active listening, and transformational questioning to every consulting engagement.
What This Means for You
When you work with me, you’re getting the best of both worlds. You’re getting someone who can:
- See the big picture while also focusing on your individual journey
- Analyze systems and processes while honoring the human experience within them
- Provide strategic guidance while empowering you to find your own answers
- Challenge your thinking while supporting your growth

Two Ways I Show Up
That “coach or consultant” question usually comes from people trying to figure out which box to put me in. Here’s how the two sides actually show up in my work.
For individuals, that’s Life on Your Terms, my coaching program built around Awareness, Acceptance, and Action. It’s for queer and trans folks who know exactly who they are and are ready to close the gap between that and how they’re actually living, whether that’s questioning, coming out, transitioning, or just tired of shrinking yourself around certain people.
For organizations, that’s the consulting and speaking side, DEI initiatives, inclusive leadership workshops, and talks built to help teams create real psychological safety and inclusion, not just check a box.
Different formats, same underlying belief: real change needs both the strategy and the human work, together.
Let’s Talk
If any of this resonates with you, or someone you know, whether that’s you personally or your organization, I’d love to connect. Because sometimes the most powerful question isn’t “coach or consultant?” but rather “what becomes possible when you have both?”
